title : disgusted & disappointed
feels really disgusted & disappointed.
its the first time i ever feel so shameful of being a singaporean. this morning wanted to take train to school @ somerset. by the time i reach JURONG EAST MRT, the station is crowded with people. its REALLY CROWDED with ALOT of people. the point from east-west line's door to the middle platform. that's okay. the trains was quite. 4 trains came in 5 mins. and i could get in NONE. that's fine too. when its finally reaching my queue. here comes the ultimate showdown: i was standing on the right side of the door. and i was thinking, must let people out first since this is what we have been taught right? be it crowded or no people. but then when people starts coming out, those people on the left side of the door starts to squeeze in before those people exiting the MRT. so those people who want to exit the MRT squeeze to my side cause IM THE ONE GIVING them the space to exit. then THOSE STUPID people behind me began to squeeze and push me. WTH?!?! being good people = being stupid. being considerate and people will start taking advantages of you. and when it happens not once, not twice but MANY MANY times. you did think something is wrong with this society. when one person is being considerate, and 10 people ard him is NOT. so why bother to be considerate????????? and i have this thought: if singapore ever encounters disasters, this is what singaporean will do: they will run selfishly by their own (perhaps helping ONLY their family members or frens) and when they are being save while you are not, they will turn back and say " THANK GOD ITS NOT ME" i'm not saying this based on this morning incident only. being a cashier who service people before, i did say i have met REALLY NASTY people before. so i have come to a point that i no longer think singaporeans are GRACIOUS. NO AMOUNT OF EDUCATION will CHANGE that too. because its too deep-rooted. SURE, i have seen singaporeans doing good things either. but ITS NOT ENOUGH! one bad incident is enough to cover 10 good incident. heard of this phrase in chinese before? *numbed* |
